he original Timorous Beastie, immortalised in Robert Burms’ famous scottish poem “To a Mouse” was a timid little field mouse. Echoing our natural bard’s wit. This whisky is most certainly not for the fainthearted.
This non chill-filtered “vatted malt” is a marriage of appropriately aged and selected highland malts – including, amongst others, those distilled at Blair Athol, Glen Garioch, Dalmore and Glengoyne distilleries. Douglas Laing’s Timorous Beastie small batch release is brimful of flavour with a honey spiced character and a piquancy to relish.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Like opening a packet of creamy sweet fudge, sherbet lemon, pear drops and apple fizzers, freshly cooked orange marmalade, hints of spicy wood.
Palate: Bitter chocolate creamy fudge with lots of buttery notes and a pleasant spice. Lots of woody characters and honeycomb with a slight raisin characteristic.
Finish: The buttery finish gives you ginger and honey with cereals and beeswax.
NOTE : Some of the stock is bottle
