This is an unbelievable Coal Ila. For a 12-Year-Old Scotch, It is brilliantly vibrant. Understandably, the quick effect on the sense of taste is the peat smoke, yet there’s so much else going ahead here, as well: smoked olives, ocean growth, salt and pepper, all set on a delicately sweet bed of toffee and vanilla fudge. Waiting smoke, olives, and ocean growth on the wrap-up.
Area – Bursting with intense flavor, Caol Ila Scotch does equity to its Islay home.
Appearance – Pale straw.
Nose – Subdued, citrus fruitiness; a whiff of shower oil and dental practitioner’s mouthwash. A crisp and tempting nose, with next to zero hint of smoke.
Body – Smooth, pleasant mouth-feel: firm with a light to medium body.
Sense of taste – Drinks well at common quality; sweet begin; pleasant, light fragrant smokiness and a long wrap up.
Complete – Sweet smokiness in the waiting, marginally acrid wrap-up.
ABV : 43%
